 Prevention Methods

DIY Tips and Preventative Measures for HVAC & Air Duct Cleaning

  • Regular Filter Replacement

Change your HVAC filters at least every 6 months to prevent dust and debris accumulation and ensure the safe operation of your furnace.

  • Maintain Cleanliness

Keep your home clean by vacuuming and dusting regularly to reduce the amount of debris entering your ducts.

  • Inspect Vents Regularly

Check for signs of blockage or dust build-up, and clean or replace your vent registers periodically. Do not obstruct these devices...either with “air” filters or by closing them off completely.

In-Depth Techniques in HVAC & Air Duct Cleaning

Our team uses advanced techniques and equipment, such as HEPA filtration, high-powered vacuums, brushes, and agitation whips, to thoroughly clean the inside of your entire HVAC system and ductwork. We focus on removing all contaminants, including mold, pollen, and dust mites, ensuring your HVAC system is as clean as possible.

We begin by surveying the layout and identifying the supply and return sides of the system. For maximum suction, we isolate each side, connect our negative air machine to the return side of the furnace, and begin cleaning from the farthest point toward the furnace. We then access and clean the supply side and hand clean all registers and boots, reinstalling them with the dampers in the correct position.

We use HEPA-filtered collection machines to pull contaminants out of your system while we agitate all interior surfaces with whips and brushes. Then, we use air sweeps to leave your ductwork completely clean inside. Much of the work is done by hand cleaning or using robotics to ensure all surfaces of the system’s interior are cleaned.

After work is completed, we seal all access ports, inspect every room and area cleaned, and report the results of our work to the client.

Health Considerations of HVAC & Air Duct Cleaning

Your furnace and ductwork act as the lungs of your home or business. It carries away pollutants, supplies clean air, warms and cools you, humidifies or dehumidifies your air, and contributes to an overall healthier environment for you, your family, and your employees by reducing pollutants that can cause respiratory issues and allergies.

AmeriClean's services not only improve your indoor air quality but also enhance the overall efficiency of your HVAC system, leading to energy savings and reduced environmental impact.

Navigating Insurance and Claims for HVAC & Air Duct Cleaning

AmeriClean assists with insurance claims, providing documentation and support to ensure you receive the coverage you deserve for HVAC and air duct cleaning which is necessary after incidents such as fire, water, or mold damage.

FAQ's

Depending on the number of people, pets, and cleaning habits of the rest of the property, the industry recommends having your system cleaned every 10 years. When AmeriClean services your furnace and air duct system, we watch for pre-existing damage, water intrusion, varmint evidence, and air leakage, giving you peace of mind that your system is operating as designed.

We use powerful HEPA-filtered vacuum machines to pull in and collect the dirt and dust so that none of it finds its way back into your home.

Absolutely! When your system is clogged up, it must run longer to maintain your comfort levels. According to the National Air Duct Cleaner’s Association (NADCA), having your furnace and air ducts cleaned is maintaining it for peak efficiency. This can reduce your heating and cooling costs by 25% or more! A long-term benefit is proper cleaning and maintenance of your system, which will increase its functional lifespan and defer costly equipment replacement.

Depending on the complexity of your system(s), it usually takes two to three technicians most of a day to properly complete a typical residential service.

While there is no need to leave your home during our process, we do ask that you remove any breakables and provide us access to your furnace and registers.

All AmeriClean service technicians are fully trained and supervised by a Certified Mechanical Hygienist who writes and reviews worldwide Standards of Care for the industry.

Use the best furnace filters available…the pleated ones. The more pleats, the better. The filters touting “allergen removal” are the best. Change your furnace filter at least every 6 months.

Warning! Failure to change your furnace filter can damage your furnace by restricting airflow. Slowing air flow results in stressing your heat chamber - potentially cracking it and allowing dangerous Carbon Monoxide (CO) gasses to enter your living areas!
